★★★★★
"The First Flyer at Grindelwald First, 800 m of zipline down the mountain at 84 km/h, the Eiger in view the whole way. My 14-year-old son's favourite moment of the entire trip. Wanvela followed it up with a Mountain Cart, one full day of adventure."

★★★★★
"Annecy really is the Venice of the Alps, small canals cutting through the old town, pastel houses, a castle island in the middle of the water, a lake so clear you can see the bottom. Far fewer crowds than Paris. The hidden gem I didn't expect to love most."
· September 2025 · group of 4
★★★★★
"The evening Seine cruise, past Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and ending at the Eiffel Tower with its hourly sparkle. The most romantic Paris evening possible. The Mercure was steps from the Eiffel, we walked there every night. An unforgettable honeymoon."

FAQ, Swiss & France

Common questions

Why combine Switzerland and France in one trip?
The two countries are geographically and linguistically connected, the Alps cross the border, Annecy (France) is only 40 minutes from Geneva (Switzerland), and French is spoken on both sides. One trip starts with Swiss alpine adventure (Lucerne + Interlaken + Grindelwald), then shifts to French city culture (Annecy + Lyon + Paris), two worlds in one journey.
Are the Grindelwald First Adventures safe? Who can join?
Yes, all activities are managed by certified safety officers with European-standard equipment. First Flyer (800 m zipline at 84 km/h) suits ages 10+ with weight 35–125 kg and no motion sickness. Mountain Cart (a paved-track alpine cart) suits 12+. Every activity is optional in the package, if you'd rather not, we can swap for a Lake Brienz boat or a Schilthorn cable car ride instead.
Mount Rigi vs Schilthorn vs Jungfraujoch, why Rigi?
Rigi is the "Queen of the Mountains", the first peak in Europe to have a cogwheel railway (1871). 360° panoramic views of 13 lakes and the entire Alpine range on a clear day. Much quieter than Jungfraujoch. Easy access from Lucerne (with a lake steamer crossing as part of the journey). If you'd rather do Jungfraujoch or Schilthorn instead, Wanvela can arrange it with an additional fee.
Why Annecy + Lyon + Paris instead of just Paris?
Paris is Paris, but Annecy is the "Venice of the Alps" few Thai travelers ever visit. Lyon is the gastronomic capital of France (home of the Michelin guide and Paul Bocuse). This trip pairs slow pacing through underrated French cities, beautiful food, and quieter crowds with a Paris finish, rather than the usual 4-night Paris-only itinerary.
Can the route be modified?
Entirely. This is the suggested baseline. As a Private Trip, you can add Zermatt + Matterhorn, swap Interlaken for Zermatt, add Provence lavender (summer) after Lyon, or extend to 12 days for Versailles + Champagne. The Wanvela team plans around what matters to your group.
How does the Schengen visa work?
Wanvela handles the entire Schengen process through VFS, documentation, appointment booking, and tracking. If you've held a Schengen visa in the past 3 years the process is faster. The visa fee is included in the package. We need at least 60 days' lead time.
