★★★★★
"Our 12-year-old did the First Flyer and Mountain Cart at Grindelwald First and came back to the hotel saying it was the best day of his life. Two nights in Grindelwald meant waking up to the Eiger and not moving bags every day."

"Lauterbrunnen was more beautiful than we expected — the Staubbach Falls dropping off the cliff right in front of us — and the next day the train into car-free Zermatt with the most wonderful atmosphere. The photographer caught every angle. Didn't want it to end."

"Gornergrat in the morning, the Matterhorn right in front of us, sky completely clear. A honeymoon that Wanvela timed perfectly. We finished on Bahnhofstrasse and brought home Lindt and a watch."

FAQ, Switzerland

Common questions

When is the best time to go?
Late May to September, Alpine summer. Meadows in full bloom, clear views of the Matterhorn from Gornergrat and Eiger/Mönch/Jungfrau from Grindelwald First, with the First gondola and its summit activities running a full season. October is shoulder season with autumn colour. December–March is ski season, and Wanvela can reshape this into a ski itinerary.
What is Lauterbrunnen and why stop there?
Lauterbrunnen is a small village on the floor of a valley walled by sheer cliffs, with more than 70 waterfalls pouring off them. The highlight is the roughly 300-metre Staubbach Falls, visible from the middle of the village — one of the most photographed places in Switzerland. The trip stops there on the afternoon of Day 3, between Interlaken and Grindelwald.
How do Gornergrat and Grindelwald First differ?
Gornergrat is a cog railway from Zermatt up to a panoramic Matterhorn viewpoint — the most iconic photo spot in Switzerland. Grindelwald First is a cable car to the summit for the First Cliff Walk and Eiger/Mönch/Jungfrau views, with optional adventures (First Flyer, Glider, Mountain Cart, Trottibike) you can add on.
Which airline is used?
Thai Airways direct from Suvarnabhumi to Zurich: TG970 (BKK 01:05 → ZRH 07:50), returning TG971 (ZRH 13:30 → BKK 05:30 next day). No plane change. International flights are not bundled, quoted separately by cabin class and season.
Can the route be extended?
Entirely. Add Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe) from Grindelwald, St. Moritz (2N), Lugano for an Italian-Swiss feel, or Lake Como across the Italian border. Private Trips are fully customizable. Upgrades to 5-star (Mont Cervin Palace Zermatt, Bürgenstock, The Chedi Andermatt) on request.
