Day 2
Zurich – Lucerne
Arrive in Zurich and travel to Lucerne, the lakeside town beneath Mount Pilatus — strolling the wooden Chapel Bridge and the Old Town.

Interlaken – Lauterbrunnen – Grindelwald
Visit Interlaken between its two lakes and the waterfall village of Lauterbrunnen, then into Grindelwald beneath the Eiger.

Grindelwald First – Mountain Activities
A full day on Grindelwald First with alpine activities, the First Cliff Walk and panoramic Eiger views.

Day 5
Grindelwald – Täsch – Zermatt
Travel to the Täsch rail station and continue by train to car-free Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn.

Farewell the Matterhorn, return via Täsch and travel on to Zurich.

Common questions
When is the best time to go?
Late May to September, Alpine summer. Meadows in full bloom, clear views of Eiger/Mönch/Jungfrau from First and the Matterhorn from Gornergrat. All four Grindelwald First adventures (Flyer, Glider, Mountain Cart, Trottibike) operate the full season. October–November is shoulder season with autumn colour, though some First activities close. December–March is ski season, Wanvela can reshape this into a ski itinerary.
What's at Grindelwald First?
A cable car up to 2,168 m for the Eiger–Mönch–Jungfrau viewpoints, plus four alpine adventures bundled into the package: First Flyer (800 m zipline at 84 km/h) · First Glider (eagle-style flight loop around Eiger) · Mountain Cart (3 km downhill on a three-wheeled cart) · Trottibike (4.5 km mountain scooter back to Grindelwald). Suitable for ages 8 and up, travelers who skip the adventures can take the gentle walk to Bachalpsee instead.
What makes the Glacier Express special?
It's the most famous panoramic train in the world, curved overhead windows, mountain-valley views the whole way, lunch served at your seat. Wanvela includes both legs: Day 5 Grindelwald → Zermatt (~5–6 hours) and Day 6 Zermatt → Zurich over the Oberalp Pass (2,033 m, the route's highest point).
Why Emirates via Dubai?
Emirates is the most convenient route from Bangkok to Zurich, short 1–2 hour layover in the spacious Emirates Lounge in Dubai. Return is direct Zurich → Suvarnabhumi arriving 18:05, faster than other carriers. Thai Airways direct is available on request, we'll quote separately.
Can the route be extended?
Entirely. Extend to 10 nights by adding Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe) from Grindelwald, St. Moritz (2N), Lugano for an Italian-Swiss feel, or Lake Como across the Italian border. Private Trips are fully customizable. Upgrades to 5-star (The Chedi Andermatt, Bürgenstock, Mont Cervin Palace Zermatt) on request.
